Samsung Galaxy S2

This past Christmas, Gustav went shopping and came home with a Singtel shop bag.

Gustav anxiously peeks inside and all there was a sleek black box with the words "Samsung Galaxy S2" lighting up his eyes!

It's a spanking new Samsung Galaxy S2 and Jolly Sheebo joins Gustav for the unpacking fun!

Samsung Galaxy S2 is considered a Christmas present for ourselves. Gustav's thought: "Finder's keepers, this is mine! hur hur hur"

1. Operating System
Android OS is way much better than Apple iOS, everything on the screen is customisable,  you can make your Samsung Galaxy S2 look like an iphone but you can't do it the other way round. The possibility of Android is limitless, you can make your Samsung phone very unique and different from others.

2. Display
We love the much bigger screen on the Samsung Galaxy S2, but the iphone screen renders black nicer, video looks much better on the iphone. The Samsung Galaxy S2 display looks more contrasty and warm.

3. Handling
Iphone has better grip in our hands. The Samsung Galaxy S2 is too wide and flat to hold and it weighs like almost nothing, it feels like a plastic toy but it fits nicely in our pocket.

4.  Programs
Apple App Store has more apps than Android's Market and much better games on the iphone. But the beauty of Android is, no more iTunes synching, you can just copy and paste any files from your computer. You can also bluetooth while your iphone can't. Best of all, you can directly play movie (avi) files on the Samsung Galaxy S2 and it can even load the subtitle (srt) files automatically with the build in player. Rmvb video files can also be played via moboplayer free from the Market. We absolutely love this as we can watch movies / tv shows (avi format) and Taiwan variety show (rmvb format) on our phone.

5. Conclusion
This is not a tech web site, so we'll stop at here. Conclusion, yes we pick the Samsung Galaxy S2 over the iphone any day. Android OS is just so awesome! No more troublesome iTunes synching just to copy 1 file to the phone and no more converting of videos to mp4 format to play on the iphone.

We bought a 16GB external micro sd card for our Samsung Galaxy S2 and now it has a total of 32GB space! Lots of apps and stuff we can put in our phone now!

Our NICI plush love the Samsung Galaxy S2 so much, we bought another one week later! Wait, is that Hugo Wolf's wallpaper on the lock screen?

We are officially a convert from iphone to Android phones and Samsung is certainly the best choice among all the other brands now.

Elsa meets Gustav?

Remember Jolly Elsa who just arrived at NICI-Mania last week? NICI de created Elsa & Gustav as a pair but Elsa came here alone because we haven't found a good looking Gustav suitable for our gorgeous Elsa. An interesting mini Elsa-Gustav-episode happened here at NICI-Mania and we were laughing all over it, we'll show you what happened!

Gustav! Elsa exclaimed upon seeing a familiar figure with similar ear shape as Gustav. Elsa was too excited to have any suspicious doubts in her mind towards the Gustav she's looking at right in front of her. Elsa rushes towards the Gustav figure in delight but what she don't know was

Mischievous Jolly Sheebo at his usual shenanigan impersonating Gustav to cheat Elsa of her feelings. Sheebo thinks thats flipping out his ears made him look like Gustav as the unique ear design is one of the trademark of Elsa & Gustav sheep. You really think you are a genius orange NICI sheep?

Our gullible Jolly Elsa fell for it! Elsa hugs the Gustav imitation and Jolly Sheebo is on cloud nine now. Sheebo's evil plan a success! But Elsa is not a dumb girl though, she is just too blinded by love. Just when Elsa is feeling so cuddly in Sheebo's arms, her eyes looked directly into Sheebo's chin and realised something was fishy...

Elsa asked, Gustav where is your GOAT TEE?! Did you shave it?...

Jolly Sheebo tried to think of an insidious way to explain to Elsa regarding Gustav's goat tee but our NICI hero Hugo Wolf came by and smacks Sheebo's head to stop him from continuing his deceit against our ingenuous Elsa.

Poor Elsa thought she found Gustav. Don't worry, your wait won't be too long. Gustav will be here to be with you soon. Hugo Wolf gives Elsa a comfort hug to assuage her broken heart. Will Elsa & Gustav finally be together? Stay tuned to find out soon! ^_^

Yu Sheng (Rainbow Combo Fish Plate) -- with recipe

Today is the 7th day of the 1st lunar month; it is said in the "The Book of Divining" by Dongfang Shuo, that the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and the 6th day of the 1st lunar month are the days of divination for the chickens, dogs, pigs, goats, oxen and horses respectively. The 7th day is for the people; if this day is sunny and bright, the year will be a good one for people.

It is very popular for the Chinese in Malaysia and Singapore to have Yu Sheng during Chinese New Year, especially on the "birthday for mankind". This is a unique custom dish here.

Yusheng is considered a dish symbolise of abundance and prosperity. You can find Yu Sheng in the menu from all the Chinese restaurants here, which cost around USD 40 /platter.

Today, Nici Jolly Sheebo shall share the recipe of his healthier & cheaper home-made Yu Sheng. ( portion: up to 10 people )

Ingredients for vegetables : Carrots 200g, Cucumber 200g, Jicama (yam bean) 200g, Pomelo 200g, Lettuce 200g, Cabbage 50g , Candiedmelon 30g, Pickled Rakkyo(Scallion Head) 20g, Red Pickled ginger 20g.

All the ingredients can be easily obtained from market.

Of course, the most important ingredient: sliced raw fish.

You can use any kind of fresh fish according to your preference (salmon, mackerel, abolone, etc)

Ingredients for sauce : Small limes 8 pcs & squeeze its juice, Vinegar 2 tablespoons, SourPlum sauce 3 tablespoons. Mix all the sauces and season with Salt, Sugar and Sesame oil.

Lastly, Roasted peanuts 50g, Roasted Sesame 20g, Fried wanton skin.

These ingredients play the part for cruchiness.

Cut all the vegetables into thin an long slices, gently squeeze the vege as we do not want too much water or else Yu Sheng will become too wet.

Put all the sliced vege in a big plate.

Mix all the other ingredients into the platter.

OK, we are ready to " LoHei"

Everyone toss the Yu Sheng and say all the auspicious wishes such as "good fortune, good wealth, a prosperity year ahead" out loud!

It is said that the higher the food clip, your wishes for the coming year will be easier to achieve.

The cruchiness from the vegetables and peanuts, mix with soft and springy fish sliced, coupled with sweet and sour taste. It is definately great to serve as an appertizer before the meal.

This is Jolly Sheebo or more commonly known as the Orange Sheep with Pullover. He is very soft and cuddly, and we love how his face is so round and chubby!

Sheebo has been around for quite some time already and they will be sold out pretty soon..

so this lonely orange sheep plush sitting on the shelf was finally brought home to join the family.

Jolly Sheebo finally reunites with Jolly Rosa, Jolly Wolf and Jolly Mah. The four of them were once together on the same shelf around 2 to 3 years ago waiting to be brought home by any plush loving soul. Now the orange sheep reunites with the rest of the gang. It's a heartwarming moment, so give us a nice pose and....
