Movie at The Cathay

NICI Pirates are watching a movie at The Cathay today! The Cathay used to be just like your cinemas in the olden days where the whole building is made up of many theater halls. The Cathay is now a shopping center too and Singapore Idol auditions were held here previously.

This unique looking building beside the Cathay is SOTA (School of the arts Singapore).

Pirate Bear: We are at the Cathay, what movie are we going to watch today?
Pirate Lion: I see a Harry Potter poster.
Pirate Bear: That movie is for kids, we're pirates!
Pirate Lion: Then we should watch Pirates of The Caribbean, I love Johnny Depp.
Pirate Bear: You idiot, that movie is no longer showing in the Cathay.

Harry Potter in 3D is occupying the Grand Cathay hall today, which is one of the biggest cinema halls.

NICI Pirates are going to watch Transformers! We loved the first and second Transformers movie, eagerly waiting for the third but it was so hard to get the tickets in the first 2 weeks.

The movie counter at the Cathay is right in front at the ground floor. NICI Pirates got the tickets!

Now we have to wait till the movie starts, another 40 minutes more. Our pirates are going to walk around in the Cathay.

Pirate Lion: Look! There's a fountain downstairs. Let's go have a look.
Pirate Bear: Please don't say anything about it being related to the fountain of youth again -_-

Hello Pirate Gecko! You're back on the team. This round fountain at the Cathay serves no purpose except for us who needs a place to sit around while waiting for the movie to start.

 Pirate bear found some guys jamming in a band with drums, bass, guitar and even vocals! It seems really fun! Because Guitar Hero is just the guitar, this is a full band wow~!

 Movie is going to start soon, NICI Pirates are at one floor right below the Cathay theater halls.

Pirate Lion: Anyone wants to get any drinks or popcorn for the movie?

What is pirate gecko trying to do? Blend into the surroundings like a chameleon? Hehe

Our movie is at theater 4. Hall 1 is the Grand Cathay.

NICI Pirates of The Caribbean

Previously on NICI Pirates Plush, we that pirate gecko was missing. Pirate lion and bear go in search for gecko in NICI's version of Pirates of The Caribbean!

Pirate bear and lion decide to go search for gecko, their nakama (friend) who was missing from the NICI pirates team.

As they start off with their Pirates of The Caribbean adventure, the pirates immediately came upon an orange colored fruit.

Pirate Lion: Shall we pluck a few and eat? It might give us special powers!!
Pirate Bear: Ya right...Come one, let's head out to another area.

Pirate Lion: Gecko is a lizard, he likes to hide around narrow dark places.
Pirate Bear: So you think he might be hiding in these pebbles?

Pirate Bear: Aye mate, are we really gonna dig through this whole pile of rocks?

.....

Pirate Lion: Keep digging, we might find something interesting beneath the rocks!
Pirate Bear: ..................

Pirate Lion: Okay, let's head for another place and search for Gecko..
Pirate Bear: Wait!!! Did you see that?

Pirate Lion: Oh my god!! What's this?!........is it the f..f..f..f..f..Fountain of Youth?!

Pirates of the Caribbean's the Fountain of Youth laid upon the two pirates eyes.

Pirate Bear: Can't believe we found the Fountain of Youth!
Pirate Lion: It is said that we can stay young forever if we drank the water!

Pirate Lion: OH Mermaids!!! This must certainly be it!
Pirate Bear: Wait a minute..are you sure those are mermaids?
Pirate Lion: Of course they are you dimwit! Let's take a sip of the fountain's water quick!

Pirate Bear: But if this is really the Fountain of Youth, then we need a chalice to drink from it.

Pirate Lion: Who cares! This is some magical water, let's just both take a mouthful and see what happens.

Pirate Lion: Okay now, do I look younger?
Pirate Bear: I don't know mate, you look the same.
Pirate Lion: I'm sure something is different with me, I can feel the energy inside me!!
Pirate Bear: Why don't i feel anything at all?..
Pirate Lion: Come on, I'm bustling with energy. Let's go find our friend Gecko.

Pirate Bear: Alright then, there's some greener pastures ahead, lets go check there out.

Pirate Lion: Look at this plant! I think this is the Tree of Life! I saw it in an old book.
Pirate Bear: Oh..here we go again..
Pirate Lion: I found something more interesting!!...Come

Pirate Lion: Hey mate, look at this red plant, do you know what is this? Maybe if I eat it I will grow taller!

Pirate Bear: I've never seen this before but beware, bright colors usually means its poisonous.

Pirate Bear: Wait, did you hear something?? I heard what seemingly sounded like a gecko's chirping sound. It is coming from the rocky area, let's go back and have a look.

Pirate Bear: WHAT?!! This wasn't here just now, I'm sure we checked it very thoroughly. How could we have missed this?

Pirate Lion: The package is sealed. What does Parkson means?
Pirate Bear: The sound is coming from inside, quick! Let's open it up.

Pirate Gecko busted out of the package and the exclaimed: You guys finally found me! I've been calling out to you guys all the time! What took you so long?

Pirate Bear: Its that silly lion who's been playing all day long with everything around.
Pirate Lion: Hey don't put all the blame on me, you were with me for everything.

NICI Pirates finally reunited. Pirate Bear, Pirate Lion and Pirate Gecko. They will now set sail with their adventurous expedition around the world. Hope you enjoyed our NICI Pirates of The Caribbean. AYE!

NICI Pirates Plush

Earlier, we talked about our trip to Malaysia's NICI outlet at 1Utama and ended up shopping at Parkson. So here we are with our new NICI toys..

Ladies and gentlemen and plushies beware, NICI Pirates are in town! (Roar) pirate bear, pirate lion and pirate gorilla..wait! Pirate gorilla did not sound right. Who are you?

You are Milo Gorilla from NICI wild friends, you are not a NICI pirate plush. What did you do to pirate gecko?

Milo Gorilla cheekily smiled at us and replied: Pirate Gecko is too skinny and weak, pirate bear and lion recruited me as a replacement, I am strong and powerful, I am Pirate Gorilla!

Okay Milo, we get it..you realise your tag is still on do ya?

We got Milo Gorilla because he is the one and only gorilla plush sitting on the nici shelf. He looks too lonely not to bring home.Although his face is not exactly rounded, he has beautiful eyes and extremely soft fur, it felt softer than our bigger Milo.

Okay back to pirates, we searched through all to get the best looking NICI Pirate Lion. We almost did not bring one home, reason is, most of the pirate lion's hat are bent on the side or on top. This is the only pirate lion with the best looking hat at 25cm.

Notice the price of NICI Pirates are cheaper than the usual NICI plush. The 40cm NICI Pirate plush is almost the same price as other 35cm NICI plush. The 15cm NICI Pirates are cheaper than other 15cm NICI plush at RM29.90 and these prices are before discount.

The cheapest price for 25cm nici plush in Singapore is usually S$26.90 for example the wild friends series. They should but we doubt they will price the nici pirates lower than that.

So if you happen to be in the capital city of Malaysia, it is very advisable to buy nici pirates here than in Singapore. Parkson offer 10% off all NICI products for everyone and NICI outlet gives 15% for members.

NICI Pirate bear is pretty fierce looking but in truth, he is a cute, fun loving bear, you will see more pictures of him in our future entries coming very soon.
