Paulaner Bräuhaus - Sunday Brunch Buffet

Jolly Mah is at Paulaner Bräuhaus for a sumptuous sunday brunch buffet

We have introduced Paulaner Brauhaus before in 2010 (Jolly Mah Paulaner Brauhaus Beer & Dinner)

As we mentioned before, we love Paulaner for the freshly brewed beer but today we are here to introduce the sunday brunch buffet *yummy*

We reached here around 11:20am, the brunch buffet starts at 11:30am. The food is almost ready, so we were offered to go in to have a seat.

Let's have a look at the Paulaner Bräuhaus sunday brunch buffet spread!

For starters, the green and leafy salad spread.

Only 4 types of sausages now, previously there used to be over 10 different types of sausages for the brunch buffet.

Here is the meat, 'main course' section.

The great thing is, once you sit down, you can immediately order the Paulaner beer before you start eating. Let us get on with the food!

This is our favorite food at the Paulaner Bräuhaus sunday brunch buffet. Crispy pork knuckles!!

Chocolate fondue

 German apple strudel

First round, here is what Jolly Mah got: 3 types of sausages, crispy pork knuckles, salmon and white fish.

After the first round of food, we took a rest, have some beer and look around the deco inside the Paulaner Brauhaus building.

The interior deco from second to third floor. You can't see all these when you are usually at the bar below. Let's continue with second round of food!

This is the fish you saw on our plate earlier.

Beef steak, not worth mentioning. Few years back, there were oxtail stew which was so much tastier.

 Chicken chop and fries.

Pasta and minced meat 'loaf'

A closer look!

Yummy bread with butter and a thick chunk of liver pâté. This is heavenly!!

Jolly Mah took another round of crispy pork knuckles! These go very well with Paulaner beer.

Alas, Jolly Mah started going for some light food.

Yummy cheese caught our acute attention. But we decided it's time for deserts..

The german apple strudel pictured earlier.

Bavarian cheese cake!

We didn't touch the ice cream though.

Time to wrap up the Paulaner Bräuhaus sunday brunch buffet with more Paulaner beer. It is free flow and you can order both the lager and dark flavor.

Our stomach is so bloated, we took a walk around the Paulaner Bräuhaus building.

A look from the third floor. This is where we had the sunday brunch buffet.

The bar on the ground floor is opened for business as usual, even though it is only 2:30pm in the afternoon.

Mid-Autumn Festival 2012 (Lantern edition)

Earlier it was Mid-Autumn Festival. Also called Mooncake Festival or Lantern Festival. Jolly Rosa can't wait to play with the lanterns this year. We have all that is ready - lantern, candles, holder (wooden stick) and a lighter.

Jolly Rosa looks upon eagerly as we light up the candle!

First you have to fold up the brackets at the center of the lantern. Either burn the button of the candle to produce wax for sticking onto the lantern or..

drip the wax onto the brackets of the candle holder in the lantern. Both way works as long as the candle sticks on.

The candle lights up nicely on the lantern. Jolly Rosa is so excited!

The lantern is fully setup! Rosa can't wait to go downstairs!

Big fat Jolly Rosa being transported downstairs in a mooncake paper bag (^_^)

Rosa found a very nice spot!

We lit up the big lantern with Rosa.

How about one more lantern? :D

2 is not enough, Jolly Rosa has 3 lanterns!

It was a great night of fun, Rosa gets to play with lantern downstairs during this Mid-Autumn Festival.

What's coming next?! H-a-l-l-o-w-e-e-n
*BOO*

Mid-Autumn Festival 2012 (Mooncake edition)

Today is Mid-Autumn Festival 2012! Also called the Mooncake Festival, this year we are filled with mooncakes and Jolly Rosa is very excited to check out what we have!

Mooncakes always come in uniquely designed boxes, each with their own special design to stand out from the crowd. This is a double storey mooncake box from Ritz Carlton.

Next, Jolly Rosa checks out a long mooncake box, something different from the usual square box.

The box opens at both sides and on top. These mooncakes are from Continental Catering.

White Lotus Seed Paste with Double Egg Yolks mooncakes from Li Bai Cantonese Restaurant (of Sheraton Towers)

Double Yolk mooncakes from Tien Court.

Jolly Rosa spots something slight different, from Teochew City Seafood Restaurant..

Its Teochew yam paste mooncakes with single egg yolk.

Jolly Rosa! How can you finish all 5 boxes of mooncakes? Let's cut the mooncakes into small pieces and share with everyone!

Jolly Rosa wishing everyone Happy Mid-Autumn Festival 2012! Enjoy your mooncakes!

Mayim Chinese Restaurant

NICI-Mania flock is at Mayim Chinese Restaurant at Bukit Batok West Mall today. Look who's shoes are those!

It's Jolly Sleepy! Hello sleepy, you're finally awake! Mayim Chinese Restaurant is always a long queue before you can get in.

While waiting for the queue at Mayim, we looked through the menu to decide what to eat first.

Finally, we were awarded our seats in the restaurant. Jolly sleepy picks a nice spot on the table. You have to write down on a piece of paper your orders at Mayim.

At Mayim, the waiting time is not very long. Food is served swiftly. While waiting for our food, we notice some interesting looking mini container/jars on the table.

Upon closer inspection, the 4 jars contains: spicy bean paste, fried garlic, green chilli pickles and garlic red chilli.. Fried garlic is our favorite at Mayim if we have to pick one.

After 5 minutes, our dishes came.. Jolly Sleepy awakes again! This is one of our favorite food at Mayim Chinese Restaurant. The roast pork noodles! Notice the generous serving of roast pork!

The roast pork at Mayim is soft and tender..the roast pork skin is very crispy *yums*

Yang Zhou fried rice came next.

The last dish is "Salted Fish Tofu Chicken Claypot". Jolly Sleepy gaze in hunger! Let's tuck in!

If you don't mind the long queue at Mayim Chinese Restaurant, it is well worth the wait, most of the dishes we have tried is nice. More to come when we visit it again!

And see ya next time Jolly Sleepy! We will properly introduce you :)
