Bunga Raya - National Flower of Malaysia

Bright red flower spotted!! NICI Monkey is intrigued by the vivid color of this flower and went in closer to have a look..

Upon closer inspection, NICI Monkey realized that this bright red flower is Bunga Raya or in English called Hibiscus. Bunga Raya is the national flower of Malaysia.

Declared by the government of Malaysia to be the national flower in the 60s, Bunga Raya is the official Malay name for it. The Chinese people here called it the Big Red Flower due to the direct translation from the word Bunga Raya. Bunga means flower and Raya means big or grand. The red of the petals symbolizes the courage, life, and rapid growth of the Malaysian, and the five petals represent the five national principles of Malaysia. The flower can be found imprinted on the notes and coins of the Malaysian ringgit.

Hibiscus rosa-sinensis or Chinese Hibiscus is the exact description of this flower. Coincidentally, hibiscus is also the state flower of Hawaii. How nice. Gotta go now, NICI monkey was just passing by someone else's house.

Euro Cup 2012 Erdinger Beer

Today is Euro Cup 2012's final clash between Italy and Spain. Our NICI Zebra Gwen Giraffe got themselves a Euro 2012 Erdinger beer box set.

The Euro 2012 Erdinger beer box set consist of 5 Erdinger weissbier and one Erdinger glass designed specially for Euro Cup 2012.

NICI Zebra opens up the Erdinger beer box eagerly..

The intriguing football shape on the top part of the Erdinger beer glass is the unique design specially made for this year's Euro Cup.

Beer always goes well with watching football don't they?

Erdinger is probably the most popular German beer in Singapore due to its pleasing wheaty taste that wins its popularity.

Singapore Philatelic Museum is a museum of stamps and philatelic material collections of Singapore from the 1830s to present day. It is the postal history of Singapore and its stamps.

Okay Jolly Wolf is going into the Singapore Philatelic Museum to have a look but not one second after this picture was taken, Jolly Wolf fell down. You could see he is almost falling from the picture.

Once inside the Singapore Philatelic Museum, you will be encircled in a house of stamp.

There are literally thousands of stamps everywhere in the Singapore Philatelic Museum and then Jolly Wolf found something interesting..

Jolly Wolf found Mickey Mouse stamp! Oh we should mentioned, the Singapore Philatelic Museum is also a stamp shop.

Hence, the Singapore Philatelic Museum is also a great place for stamp collectors to buy unique stamps. Jolly Wolf, what are you looking for?
